UEDA’s 14th Annual Community Development Summit Recap
Many thanks to those who joined us on October 21 for Work Future: Building Pathways to Opportunity for Boys & Men of Color. Attendees discussed challenges and suggested new strategies in four areas related to employment outcomes: Networks, 21st Century Skills, Entrepreneurship and Pipelines & Pathways. Streetcar Spur to Lakefront
Milwaukee received $14.2 million through the federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) program to cover about half the cost of building a streetcar line to the downtown lakefront. Read more >>

 

Re-Opening of Milwaukee Art Museum Set

After a year of construction, renovation at the Milwaukee Art Museum is almost complete, with a public re-opening set for November 24.

Push to Increase Hiring of Job Training Program Graduates

Pro Trade Job Development, a training and job creation program for unemployed individuals and ex-offenders, announced their push to secure commitments from area companies to hire graduates of their program. Read more >>

 

MATC Promise Application Deadline

The deadline for high school seniors to apply for admission to the MATC Promise program is Tuesday, December 1. For more information, including complete eligibility requirements, visit matc.edu/promise
