The impact of the Bank On coalition and movement was highlighted in this recent article in Finextra. In the article, CFE Fund President & CEO Jonathan Mintz discussed the positive trends and real shifts in banking access that occurred as part of the pandemic. He also notes how fundamental banking is to other social investments that improve the daily lives of people such as housing and workforce. Read more>>
2022 Home Upgrade Grant Program is opened! Revitalize Milwaukee and Green Homeowners United have opened their home energy efficiency upgrade program for low-income seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities who own their home. The program is funded by a grant from the Public Service Commission. Upgrades aim to reduce utility bills and increase comfort. Each home will be evaluated for the improvements that best meet those goals and include things like attic insulation, gap sealing, and air conditioning, and more. SecureFutures is looking for around 100 volunteers to serve in the Money Coach program for the spring semester! They have the goal to serve 20 sites in the Milwaukee area, and need volunteers to bring Money Coach to even more teens in the community! Please check out the volunteer recruitment flyer for a program overview and the coach role descriptions for more details.

Marquette University Trinity Fellows Program is accepting nonprofit or government applications to host a Fellow. The Trinity Fellows Program is a 21-month work/study fellowship designed to develop emerging leaders for social and economic justice. Fellows are graduate students with a background in service, social justice, and civic engagement, who work at Milwaukee-based organizations while attaining their master’s degree. Fellows work 18 hours per week for 21 months with their placement and organizations get supportive funding to cover the cost of a Fellow. The Welford Sanders Memorial Scholarship by the UWM School of Architecture and Urban Planning (SARUP) is partnering with the Milwaukee Department of City Development. This scholarship aims to promote diversity in the Master of Urban Planning (MUP) program and honors Welford Sanders, a former professor in the department who was well-known for his economic development leadership. This exciting opportunity will provide a future graduate student with a pathway to a rewarding and meaningful career. Applications are due by January 15, 2023. More information here>>

Small Business & Nonprofits
Applications are now open to be a part of the 2023 Business Leadership Academy! This interactive, ten-month experience develops and strengthens the skills of existing and emerging LGBTQ and allied leaders in the workplace by providing quality and transformative programming. Our 2023 Program will be a monthly in-person gathering in Milwaukee (with option for virtual participation), meeting from February to November on the second Tuesday of each month from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Applications are open and are due on January 13, 2023. The Main Street Bounceback Grants program deadline was extended to 12/31/22! This grant provides $10,000 to new or existing businesses and non-profit organizations moving into vacant properties in Wisconsin’s downtowns and commercial corridors. Funds can be used to pay leases or mortgages, operational expenses and other business costs related to the newly opened location. Connect with your local Business Improvement District (BID), association, or Chamber of Commerce for guidance on applying for the grant and required documents.
